Who Can Join?

Becoming a member of The American Legion means supporting a mission that began in 1919. Volunteers, members, and officers are fighting daily for Veteran programs, rights, and raising funds for our Veterans.

Your membership helps continue this mission AND you do not need to have served to get involved. Check out the membership criteria below.

Attend a Meeting

The New Prague American Legion meets monthly on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the New Prague American Legion Park Ballroom. We have a light lunch at 6:30 pm and meeting at 7:00 pm.

Auxiliary

You must be a grandmother, mother, sister, spouse, or direct/ adopted female descendant of:

  • A member of the American Legion.

  • A man or woman who served between 4/6/1917 to 11/11/1918, or anytime after December 7, 1941.

  • Of all men and women who died after honorable discharge or in the line of duty any time after December 7, 1941 or the periods mentioned above.

Legionnaires

All those serving in the U.S. Armed Forces during times of national crisis, regardless of place of service, are eligible to become a Post Member.

 

If you have served at least one day of active duty since December 7th of 1941 and have been honorably discharged, you can become a member of our Post.

You must be one of the following:

  • The male descendant (including stepsons and adopted sons) of a current member of The American Legion.

  • The male descendant of a veteran who served from December 7, 1941 to today.

  • The male descendant of a veteran who died after his/her honorable discharge from any service from December 7, 1941 to today.

Junior ALA

To be eligible for Junior membership in the American Legion Auxiliary, a person must be under the age of 18. When a Junior member turns 18, they automatically become a senior member.
